This week, Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge hosted our annual Community Pitch, a Shark Tank-like pitch event for students participating in the Academy this year. We hosted over 250 people at LSU's Patrick F. Taylor Hall including special guests Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, LSU Vice President Mark Bieger, and LSU College of Business Dean Jared Llorens.
Since September, students have developed their brands, business plans, and presentations. At the event, they had three minutes to pitch their startups to a panel of six local executives for seed funding. Attendees witnessed firsthand the transformation of students into CEOs!
Mason Hurst was awarded $750 in seed funding to launch his startup Streamlined Living! You can watch the presentation at the link below.
